Author and sustainability advocate living and working in Madison, WI. Professionally, I am Hoffman’s Director of Sustainable Services, focusing on integrated design and project delivery, daylighting and lighting design, coordination of energy modeling, renewable energy, and monitoring and verification. A Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional, I have participated in 18 LEED certified projects with three at Platinum and five at Gold certification. A founding board member of the Wisconsin Green Building Alliance, the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, and past co-chair of the Wisconsin Green Schools Committee, I served as Executive Director of the Energy Center of Wisconsin from 1994-2001 prior to joining Hoffman.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard, Masters in Water Resource Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as my Doctorate in Environmental Studies.

The focus of this site is to share news about my book The Inevitable Solar School, its promotion, and a place for me to share my past and future writings on sustainability.
